Brighton 8hr Fishing Trips
Brighton 8hr Fishing Trip
Brighton Marina Inshore Fishing Reefs & Banks – 8hr Trips
8hr Fishing Trips taking you to the Reefs & Banks further offshore from Brighton where we anchor up for the day and fish with baits on the rough ground or rocky terrain. Depending on the time of year the target species include Cod, Pollock, Bream, Bass, Conger, Tope, Smooth Hound, Turbot, Skate, Brill, Plaice, Gurnard, Mackerel and much more.

When boat fishing for Black Bream we use light gear with small hooks and baits like ragworm, lugworm, squid, prawns & mussels. Fishing at anchor in deeper water near rocky areas, reefs and wrecks, try to keep your baits moving to attract fish. For better results, strike instantly on bites and you can also set your drag to let big fish run a bit.
Tackle & Baits
Rods & Rigs: For a great interaction with Bream use some light equipment, a nice light spinning rod gives a sensitive feel to the bites and a great fight when you hook and land your fish. Rigs: A Bream rig, two or three-hook paternoster rig or a simple running ledger rig works well.
Hooks: Use small, fine-wire hooks, such as a size 1 or 1/0 Aberdeen or Circle hooks as Bream have relatively small mouths but powerful jaws. Bait presentation: Keep your bait moving. Wiggle the line with your rod, or lift and drop it to make it look lively, as bream will chase a moving bait. Bream bites are often a sudden, rapid series of rattles. Strike instantly. If you’re using circle hooks, do not strike; just let the fish hook itself.
